All practical courses can be taken on our school boats or as 'own boat tuition' and have a maximum of 5 students to 1 Instructor, so there is plenty of time and opportunity for the Instructor to attend to your personal needs.

RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Preparation.
This is the serious end of sail training. A course designed to prepare you for the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence examination. The ultimate qualification for pleasure yachtsman. This award can also lead to commercial endorsements.

Mile building.
Many of the RYA courses require you to have completed various amounts of logged miles, some with you acting as Skipper or night hours. It may also be that you want to sail and gain experience but do not yet own a boat of your own.
Through our sister company Malta Yacht Charters, we offer a range of tidal and non-tidal, mile building sailing programmes. Whether you wish to gain more experience or achieve the required qualifing miles for the more advanced qualifications, you will discover these programmes are not only fun, but rewarding.
Under the watchful eye of our experienced skippers you can assist in planning passages or just act as crew covering journeys to Sicily and beyond.

Basic Navigation and Safety Theory.
It is an introduction to basic navigational techniques, together with safety and seamanship.This is an ideal course for users of small craft. So if you have a RIB, small day boat or a small inshore fishing boat then this course could be for you.

A course designed for those with some practical yachting experience. It provides information on navigation (both traditional and electronic), good seamanship, meteorology and basic tidal matters are also included. An ideal course to take in conjunction with the practical Day Skipper course.

A way to build on your existing knowledge of Offshore and Coastal navigation, pilotage, meteorology and seamanship. A must for the budding yachtmaster.

RYA/MCA VHF/DSC Short Range Certificate Course.
International Law requires the Operator of Marine VHF/DSC Radio to hold an SRC OPERATORS CERTIFICATE. Marine VHF/DSC radio is the best way of summoning help. You can contact the coastguard up to 50 miles off-shore and talk to other yachts 15 to 20 miles away on the open sea.
Following this 1 day course you will be a competent radio operator and know the correct procedures for making distress, urgency and safety calls by means of marine VHF/ DSC radio, and much more.
